Cable Box

Tell me, why is it my responsibility to return the cable box? Considering the fact that I pay them a small fortune every month, why can't they deliver it to me?

Last night, I almost threw my cable box against the wall.

After unplugging it for the fifth time to let it receive the signal and reset itself, it still didn't work.

I called the cable company three times last night.

No one seemed to be able to help me.

The third representative told me to bring my cable box into the main office and they'd give me another one. Great.

The only problem with that is that their office is a 45 minute drive and they are only open during the day.

That makes it virtually impossible for me to get there and resolve my problem.

This devious cable box is not the only one in my household.

We have two others, one of which is an HD box.

None of them have ever given me any issues at all.

For the past 6 months I have battled this particular cable box.

Sometimes, getting the signal resent has worked quite well.

Other times, if I turn it off and let it "rest" for a few hours, it will suddenly decide to work for us again.

If it is even remotely windy or rainy, let alone storming outside - forget it.

We won't even be able to get the power light to come on.

That's why I'm ready to throw it against a wall.

My wife won't even watch TV in the living room anymore because she refuses to do battle with this cable box.

I know many other people who have a similar cable box.

Most of them have a different cable provider or satellite TV.

They never seem to have any issues with their cable box.

It only seems to be my type of cable box or else my cable company that has issues.

My cable company just tells me that I was unfortunate enough to receive a bad cable box.

I didn't have any issues with it for the first year, I suppose it just gave out at a young age.

I'm not really sure.

I only know that I have to journey into the main office to return this cable box that I was "unfortunate" enough to receive in the first place.

I'm not sure when I will have time to accomplish this task, but I know that I just may decide to look into some other form of cable next year.
