The cable television provider would go and offer you a few different services – you could get basic cable, or you could get expanded basic cable, or you could select premium channels on top of that.

That was it.

You did not need to choose from a million different cable tv providers.

You did not need to think about internet as well, and whether you wanted to have that supplied by the same cable tv provider that you used.

You sure did not need to switch cable tv providers to take advantage of your high definition tv system.

It was all so much simpler then than it is now, and that is a fact.

Nowadays, the cable tv providers not only include the companies that sell you internet service, such as comcast and yahoo, but also places offering whole new services for your viewing pleasure.

You can get Dishnet, DirecTV, and a whole slew of other varied and assorted products to help you sit on your rear and waste the day away watching tv with any show that you please.

The new cable tv providers have literally hundreds of channels, and even the old ones have premium services with more channels than ever before.

But the irony is, people need these cable tv providers less and less as the days go on.

There is the internet after all, and if that does not entertain more than all of the cable tv providers in the world, than I do not know what does.

I mean think about it, there are millions of different web pages, where you can talk to people from all over the world, share their thoughts and ideas, even watch their movies or listen to their music.

No matter how much variety of programming the cable tv providers have been able to incorporate, they have not been able to make it interactive like that.
