You may find that it is quick and easy to pay your bill by using check by phone, but you do have to be careful of who you are dealing with when you do this.

It sounds convenient and you don’t have to do anything other than talk to someone on the phone to pay this way, but there are some people who know how to use this to get what they want from you, and they may not care if you have enough money in the bank or not.

What you may not realize is that when you pay by check, you have just given someone the keys to your bank account.

This was something a friend of mine learned the hard way.

She had just split from her cheating husband, and was trying to support herself and her two kids on her own.

As with many splits, bills often get behind, and when the income is cut in half, some things fall through the cracks.

My friend cares about her credit, so when the collection calls came, she talked with them and set up a payment arrangement to get the debts paid off.

She allowed them to take one payment via check by phone, but they didn’t stop there.

The next month, they took another payment from her account by using check buy phone.

They didn’t ask her, and they didn’t tell her they were going to do it.

She didn’t have the money in the account at the time, and she had to pay a fee for a bounced check.

The bank told her the only way she could stop the check by phone was to close her account and open a new one.

The company kept doing this to her until she had to close her account.

Not fun, but a good lesson to learn.

Scam artist may get you this way, as they got me.

I stupidly agreed to a check by phone.

They told me I could cancel, but when I tried, I could never get anyone on the phone.

I looked the company up and found out they were indeed not legitimate.

I called the bank and tried to use a stop pay on the check by phone, but they told me it probably wouldn’t work.

You have to have the exact amount to do a stop pay, and a scam will change the amount to get around a stop pay.

So in the end, I had to close my account to stop the check by phone.

Make sure you are absolutely sure about the company and their ethics and policies before you give out your information to do a check by phone, or you will really regret what happens next.
