This past Christmas, my husband bought me a new laptop.
Our desktop computer is old and slow, and I needed something for work that was faster and more reliable.
One great feature that came with my new laptop was DVD player software.
This was not something I knew I had, and it came as a bonus to me.
Though I never thought about watching DVDs on my computer, I am happy to know that it is an option.
Perhaps this will be way to fill up some free time I might have while traveling.
It is always nice to have something to do while waiting at the airport.
If you want to have DVD player software on your computer, you have to make sure your computer can handle it.
Though I do not know offhand, I know there are requirements you must have on your computer.
You have to have a certain amount of memory for your computer to handle the DVD player software.
You must also have a very fast processor in order to watch a DVD in real time.
If your computer cannot handle the information, you will end up being more frustrated than anything.
As you can imagine, you must have DVD player software that is compatible with your operating system.
You must also know how to install it correctly, and how to troubleshoot when something goes wrong.
In most cases, this is something you may not be able to do yourself.
Had my computer not come with DVD player software, I may not have known how to install it myself.
Though this type of software probably comes with instructions, that does not mean I wouldn't find a way to mess up.
I remember trying to install Windows XP on my computer, and that was enough for me.
I like to leave the installation to the professionals.
If you are having problems with your DVD player software, you want to call the manufacturer for help.
You may also want to contact your computer manufacturer to see if your system can handle the software.
When buying, look at the box the DVD player software comes in.
It should list your system requirements on the outside of the box.
That way, you know if you have what you need before you buy.
If it all seems too complicated for you, you may have to wait until this time to buy a new computer, and make sure it has DVD player software already installed.
