Once you are a boss in the company you face new challenges that make more demands on your ability to deal with people on a daily basis.

Have you ever had a conversation with someone who didn’t let you get a word in edgewise? Sometimes people just need to talk and they need minimal feedback.

In order to listen effectively you should practice active listening.

Active listening involves being receptive to what the other person has to say.

You may want to repeat or reword what you hear on occasion to make sure that the lines of conversation are open.

Remember when you are working on improving communication skills the first thing to do is to listen and respond.

Body language

Body language is a broad term for forms of communication using body movements or gestures instead of, or in addition to, sounds, verbal language, or other forms of communication.

Literal and figurative language

More traditional systems for analysing language divided linguistic expressions into two classes: literal and figurative. Usages in figurative language are called figures of speech.
