Medical terminology course

I never thought that I would see the day when I could take a medical terminology course online.

I was really surprised to find this helpful course available right on the Internet and I was even more surprised to discover that it is offered at no cost.

This is an opportunity that I am not going to pass up.

Even those who have been working in the field of medicine for years as I have should look into taking a medical terminology course.

This is especially true for seasoned workers who may not realize that the terms have been updated over the years.

We can get awful comfortable in our positions without realizing how much things are changing.

One of the reasons that I decided to look for a medical terminology course was because I need to communicate effectively with doctors as well as patients.

It is helpful to be able to put technical terms into layman terms when centered between doctors and patients.

Our physician in our office used a term that was unfamiliar to me and I had trouble describing it to the patient involved.

I knew that it was time for an update.

I hate bothering the doctor with a lot of questions and he somehow seems to think that everyone is familiar with the medical terms.

It is just so familiar to him.

I started to look for a medical terminology course that would help me bridge that gap between doctor and patient.

Since this was going to help the doctor’s office in general my employer was more than happy to offer tuition reimbursement for the medical terminology class.

Reimbursement is the operative word, here.

It is difficult to come up with the funds for school up front but I was willing to do so to help my career.

Fortunately, I came across freeed.net.

This site houses a number of online classes that you can take at no cost.

One of the classes available is a medical terminology course designed to be taken from the comfort of your own home.

There are four units in the class and examinations at the end of each section.

The online medical terminology course is perfect for someone in my position.

I am the receptionist at the doctor’s office.

I need to understand the up-to-date terms.

However, I really don’t need certification or college credits.

The only thing that I need to invest is my time.
