Telemarketing lists
Thankfully I had the option to opt out of getting these calls, and the phone is not ringing off the hook all of the time now.
A long time ago, I was sure I was on every single one of the telemarketing lists in existence.
Thankfully I had the option to opt out of getting these calls, and the phone is not ringing off the hook all of the time now.
That was a great relief, but now I have to deal with junk email.
It seems that no matter what we do, these people find a new way to drive us crazy.
Though I know they are only doing their job, but their job is driving me out of my mind.
Everyone has the option of getting off of telemarketing lists.
The government started a do not call list, and it is very easy to get your number off of those horrible telemarketing lists.
There are some exceptions though.
Charities can still call you, and if you have done business with a company in the past, they may still be able to call you.
However, a new company can not call you out of the blue to get you to try their products or services.
There are some companies that don’t follow the rules about telemarketing lists, however.
Some of them try to disguise themselves as a charity to get around the rules.
I had one such company call me, and I was saddened by what they were doing.
They were claiming to be a Christian charity, but the ‘donation’ they were asking for was in return for a product that had nothing to do with the church or any type of charity.
I told them that if they called me again I would have to report them for breaking the rules about telemarketing lists.
They did not call back.
If you think you are on some telemarketing lists, you can log onto the Internet to get off of them.
It is rather simple, and you can find the page you need very easily.
All you have to do is put “do not call registry” in a search engine and you can find the page you need.
Make sure you are going onto a real government site though.
Once you sign up and give the numbers you want removed, the page should tell you how long it will take for it to take effect.
You may have to put up with a few more calls before they stop for good.
You probably do not have to worry about your mobile numbers, as these companies cannot call those numbers anyway.
