Warranties for used cars

But if a company that offers warranties for used cars is willing to inspect thousands of them and make sure that they are not lemons, it can turn a tidy profit.

I have owned quite a few cars in my life, and almost all of them have been used.

At first, it was because I didn't have a lot of money.

Cars decrease in value so quickly that buying used cars make sense.

In general, they still have years of use in them, and you can save a buck.

Buying new cars is prohibitively expensive for most people.

It was the practicality of buying used cars that kept me at it for a long time.

I have plenty of money now, but who doesn't like to save a buck?

The problem is that, every once in a while, I get a lemon.

I'm pretty shrewd about cars, so it doesn't happen very often.

Nonetheless, there's no way to prevent it all the time.

Once I bought a used Mercedes that I thought would last for years, only to discover that the engine needed extensive work.

At that point, I swore that I would never buy a used car again.

Then I discovered warranties for used cars.

I had no idea that such a thing as a used car warranty existed.

I thought that when you buy a used car, you are on your own.

Warranties for used cars makes a lot of sense, however.

The companies that offer warranties for used cars can make a lot of profit.

You see, if you are buying a used car by yourself there is no way to guarantee that it will not go bad.

It is a risk that you have to take.

But if a company that offers warranties for used cars is willing to inspect thousands of them and make sure that they are not lemons, it can turn a tidy profit.

Used car warranties are only offered on cars that are up to a certain standard.

Vehicles that are expected to fail quickly are not insured.

The problem is, of course, that warranties for used cars cost a lot more than new car warranties for comparative models.

Even if you have had a car for a few years, if you are the only owner and can account for its record, you'll have a much easier time getting a warranty for it.

To get warranties for used cars, you have to get them carefully inspected.

Just having them checked out costs a lot of money.

It is not always worth it in the long run.
